On Mykidstime.com, we’re all about providing well researched lifestyle content that helps parents with all aspects of raising a family, whether that’s recommendations for fun family days out, tips for keeping a household running smoothly or ideas to engage kids with fun activities. As a team of parents ourselves, we particularly love when when we can work in partnership with reputable brands that we respect and admire to promote brand trust amongst parents.
Our Mykidstime article “Fun Energy Learning Activities and Resources for Kids” is an excellent example of lifestyle content created in partnership with a brand, (in this case home energy provider SSE Airtricity) offering fun and educational resources that parents can use with their children, while also promoting brand awareness and trust for SSE Airtricity as a brand.

Mykidstime.com has a sizeable actively engaged community of parents, who regularly provide us with feedback telling us that they appreciate ideas and enjoy reading articles that offer them useful ideas, tips and tricks around parenting. Last year when the Coronavirus pandemic hit and countries the world over went into lockdown, parents suddenly found themselves in the role of assistant teacher, as home and online schooling became the norm for a while.
During this time, on Mykidstime.com, we began to create content to aid parents with some aspects of home schooling. The article “Fun Energy Learning Activities and Resources for Kids was created as part of a campaign for SSE Airtricity last year, where we created a series of energy-themed activities for different ages of children to help parents keep home-confined kids engaged and learning.

Why This Content Works
1. It provides fun but crucially, educational resources for kids
In a time where many parents were worried about the amount of schooling that their children were missing out on because of restrictive public health measures, this article offered free, educational resources that catered to children at different ages.
2. The topic is appropriate for the brand partnership
SSE Airtricity is a well-known energy supplier in Ireland and it makes sense to parents for them as subject matter experts to provide educational content around the topic of energy. The partnership also gave SSE Airtricity the opportunity to promote its commitment to corporate social responsibility by highlighting its status as a 100% green energy supplier and emphasising its support of World Earth Day, building brand trust with parents as a responsible company.
3. It makes life easier for parents
The resources provided in the article are free, ready-to-use and easily downloadable making life for stressed, quarantined and working-from-home themselves parents a little bit easier!
And how do parents feel about energy content?
In our recent insights studies with parents, we asked them to tell us their thoughts on switching home energy suppliers:
One parent said “A loyalty scheme would also be a great incentive and the trust that the cost of my electricity would not rise.”
