What We Asked Parents About Home and Garden Retail

Here’s a peek at of some of the key questions we asked parents about Home and Garden Retail:

  • What home/garden retailers do you like and why?
  • When buying things for the home what is important to you?
  • When planning to redecorate or remodel what helps you decide on what to buy? What would be useful to have to help?
  • What could retailers do better for home/garden shopping?

A Selection of the Feedback from Parents on Home and garden retail

“We love Ikea, the amazing range of products for both indoor and outdoor gardens, no matter what size garden you have. Great quality and price, its the only place to shop.”

I have been renting for many years and usually it would not be anything fancy usually to match the already existing decor or colour scheme of the landlord but I am buying an apartment and I can’t wait to live in finally after renting for so long and get stuff I actually like and choose things to my taste that are toddler proof too.”

“It’s important that home and garden items are robust and don’t fall apart easily. Also it’s important you don’t need an engineering degree to put something together. Some flat packs are terribly difficult.”

I find some online shops are lacking a bit, maybe more photographs/videos of the items? That would definitely encourage me to buy online rather than browsing and then going on a trip to the store.”

I think it would be wonderful if retailers could relate their products more towards typical families living with small gardens.  A lot of Irish gardens are small but furniture huge.”
