[INSIGHTS REPORT] Parents Want To Take Action About Climate Change and Sustainability

What parents told us about climate change

This month we ran a two week insights project asking parents about climate change and sustainability.

We were curious about what they were thinking when it came to changing their own behaviour and what level of urgency they had around climate change.

What We Asked Parents About Climate Change

Here’s a peek at of some of the key questions we asked parents about climate change and sustainability:

What does climate change mean to you?
What are your barriers to making lifestyle changes that would help tackle the climate crisis?
Who is responsible for taking action on climate change?
What way would you most prefer to receive that information about climate crisis?

A Selection of the Feedback from Parents

“It’s been communicated well but I’m unsure what steps we need to take, an action plan needs to be communicated.”

“Environmentally friendly products and sustainability is a factor for me when I’m buying products for my skin or hair. As for cleaning products, I only buy products where I can recycle the packaging.”

“Reducing non sustainable options (e.g. less packaging, more local produce, no single use plastic) and have these highlighted in shops.”

“Retailers need to make a bigger effort in communicating the message about being more sustainable, as well as stocking more environmentally-friendly options and promoting them.”
